3月8日，极目新闻记者了解到，有这样一位勇敢的女教师。她叫邓智慧，是通山县新时代高级中学的一名音乐和心理教师，今年27岁，来自湖南邵阳。3月7日上午，她和同事谭品腾老师肩负着学校的重任，前往湖北第二师范学院参加校园招聘会。当日14时许，两人在愉快地用完午餐后，来到武昌黄花矶江滩散步，打算稍作放松后前往附近的武汉音乐学院继续招聘工作。

就在散步的过程中，他们注意到一名年轻男子静静地站在江边的浅水中。一开始，邓智慧以为男子只是在玩水消遣，可当她继续观察时，却发现男子的精神状态十分不好，脚步一步一停留，缓慢却坚定地朝着深水区走去。

Deng Zhihui, a 27 - year - old music and psychology teacher from New Era High School of Tongshan County in Hubei Province, explained to journalists from Jimu News that she and her colleague, Tan Pinteng, were in Wuhan to attend an on - campus job fair at Hubei University of Education on March 7. Around 14:00 after lunch, they were strolling down the riverbank before heading to their next stop - Wuhan Conservatory of Music, when they noticed a man standing in shallow water. Mistakenly assuming he was dabbling, they soon realized his fragile mental state as he staggered into the deeper area.

邓智慧敏锐地察觉到情况不对，她对同事说道：“他的动作不对劲，我下去看一下。”在靠近男子的过程中，她听到现场有音乐在播放，走近一看，发现音乐声是从岸边的一部手机里传出的，很显然，这部手机应该是下水男子的。邓智慧立刻警觉起来，她不动声色地拿出自己的手机，用眼神和动作暗示谭老师马上报警，谭老师心领神会，立即拨打了报警电话。

“Something’s wrong with him. I’ll go check on him.” Deng told her colleague. Approaching the man, she heard music playing from a phone on the bank—likely belonging to the man. Sensing urgency, she signaled Tan to call the police.

然而，情况越来越危急，此时江水已经淹到男子的腰部，他竟然试图躺下身子。看到这一幕，邓智慧深知来不及等待救援了，她当机立断，迅速脱掉了自己的外套和裤子，仅身着内衣，毫不犹豫地冲进了江水里。她奋力地朝着男子游去，当双方距离约一米远的时候，她伸手尝试了两次，终于拽住了对方的衣服。

By then, the river had reached the man’s waist, and he was attempting to lie down. Time is of the essence and Deng could not wait until rescue crew arrived. Without hesitation, Deng took off her coat and trousers and plunged into the water with only her undergarments. Struggling to reach him, she finally grasped his clothing from a meter away.

邓智慧紧紧地拽着男子，温柔耐心地开导他：“发生了什么事情啊？你有什么事情跟姐姐说，姐姐应该可以帮助你的。”可是男子只是不停地摇头并流泪，依然用力地朝着深水区走去。邓智慧心急如焚，她灵机一动，说道：“你再用力往前走的话，姐姐也会被带下去的，前面水很深。”就在这时，邓智慧故意在水中滑了一下，大声喊道：“我要摔倒了，你扶一下我！”男子听到她的话后，转过身来，扶住了她。邓智慧趁机牢牢拉住男子，拼尽全力将他拉回了岸边。

You can talk to me—maybe I can help you.” Deng Zhihui gently urged the young man, who simply shook his head in tears while wading towards the deeper area of the river. “If you go any farther, the current will drag us both down,” she cautioned. After these words, Deng stumbled on the riverbed. “I’m losing balance! Help me!” Her strategic plea worked—the man turned back to brace her, Deng seized this opportunity and pulled him back toward the shore.

上岸后，邓智慧顾不上自己还光着脚，她轻轻地拍打男子的背部，不停地安慰着他。接着，她赶紧帮男子拧干湿透的衣服。在交流中，男子只是简单地称自己来自湖南长沙，今年20岁，并不是附近的学生。

On shore, Deng comforted the shivering man while gently patting his back. She helped wring out his soaked clothes despite standing barefooted herself. The man identified himself as a 20 - year - old from Changsha, Hunan, without giving further details.

就在这时候，几名救援队的队员及时赶到了现场，并迅速展开了后续援助。

At that moment, the rescue team arrived and took over the rescue.

事后，邓智慧表示：“我不会游泳，下水的时候只想着救人，没有想这么多。”当时的水温比较冷，可她心里只有救人这一个念头，根本顾不上寒冷。

“I can’t swim—I just acted on instinct,” Deng later confessed. With the frigid water temperatures，she could not care more.

武汉长江救援志愿队副秘书长袁国华介绍，在接到邓智慧老师同事谭品腾的求助后，多名队员立即以最快的速度赶到现场。他们将情绪激动的被救男子带回基地，为他换上干爽的衣物，递上热气腾腾的热水，还用温暖的话语耐心地安抚他。随后，男子被警方接走。

Yuan Guohua, Deputy Secretary - General of the Wuhan Yangtze River Rescue Volunteer Team, recounted how the team rushed to the scene and brought the young man back to base after they received the emergency call from Tan Pinteng, Deng’s colleague. At their base, the team provided dry clothes, hot water, and emotional support to the distraught man until he was transferred to the local police.

袁国华感慨地表示：“当时如果不是邓智慧老师的及时出手，后果将不堪设想。”
